Wait no further. Experience the world. The game is in your hands.
Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow.
Wait no further. Why wait when you can live your life to the fullest everyday.
Experience the world. The world is eternal but you are not so stop worrying and start moving. The game is in your hands. Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star.
I’m lazy to translate as this is not the main part of the post. The main objective of this post is to say thanks to the 2nd year juniors for organizing a nice and affordable gathering for everyone, especially for seniors who have recently graduated. Terry has came up with a detailed description of what happened that Saturday night so if you are interested to know the entire story, just visit his new blog. I’m just going to post all the photos and videos from my Nikon Coolpix 5900. =)
Last but not least, we have some touching words from Pei See:
6 yeas ago, I was brought into this group by JT. 6 years later, each and everyone of us is still bound together by the unique experience that we once had when we were young. Nevertheless, we are no longer in the front line. Our goals and efforts are being continued by our juniors. Thank you all my friends, my comrades for being with me, being part of the group all the while. I’m sure we’ll meet again someday in the near future!
The war is on! Everyday you can see tonnes of flags and banners hanging in every visible corner around Malaysia. Everyday the newspapers are filled with countless issues / reports / interviews regarding the upcoming 12th Malaysia General Election. Everything is according to public anticipation. 3rd of March 2008 will be the day to decide. That will be the day to decide for a better / worse future.
Anyway, since I’m in Skudai now, I don’t plan to return to Penang to vote. No, I’m politically neutral and don’t curse me for not exercising my right as a Malaysian citizen. I certainly love my country but there are a few issues that I’m pretty much afraid of.
Firstly the traveling time and cost. I have to spend RM110 and 16 hours of journey back and forth for a vote by bus, and almost RM300 and 2+ hours by AirAsia. Well, economically it’s not feasible. Though this would be my first vote but I would rather spend RM300 for a sumptuous meal or 16 hours doing my paperwork, conducting some field tests and some chemical analysis, go for a nice movie. Why? Like I say, I’m politically neutral so there is no specific preferences from me. As long as I’m having a good time and not suffering like people in Pakistan or Iraq, I’ll vote for those capable leaders. Moreover, 1 single vote will not be significant at all. So?
Everyone still remember the recent bus crash which killed 3 young students? Well, I definitely don’t want to risk my life for 1 vote. Who knows if there is another f**king driver with 13 summons driving on the road. You can’t trust the bus company, and you also can’t trust JPJ. All these officers know how to manage puny cases (give summons to average driver like you and me) while they can’t be bothered by the lost of precious lives. So again, don’t ask me to vote.
For those who is going to vote, join action in deciding the next 5 years of Malaysia, please vote wisely. When i say wisely, i really mean to think about what the existing government had done for us, what they had failed to deliver. Are there alternatives besides BN? Are we ready to give some new power a try after anticipating too much but recieve nothing? You see, it’s common to see different parties “wake up” when it’s time for election. It may be nice and sweet to receive so called “election bonuses” but what will happen after the GE?
Let’s think about the events that haunt us the Malaysian citizen:
Increasing crime rate
Increasing fuel price
Inflation
Brain drain
Bad road condition
Preventable deadly accidents
Mat rempit
VK Lingam
Press and speech freedom
Public servant attitude and efficiency
Racial polarization
“Bocor” theory
Zakaria’s palace
Corruption
BERSIH
HINDRAF
Destruction of Hindu / Buddha temples
Space program
Worsening environmental pollution
Vote wisely fellow Malaysian. There are things that can’t be changed and there are things that can. Don’t be fooled by the posters, propagandas, banners, bonuses. Be visionary and vote with faith. 1 vote may not be significant but everyone can stand up and look at things clearly then things will not be the same again. We as a whole can make a difference. Remember, united we stand. Anyway, before you do anything after reading this post, enjoy yourself with the following clip. =)
Personally speaking, I’m disappointed with what BN had done. If any of you wish to understand more, just google up any of the listed items above. I’m in no position to talk about anything. It is up to you to decide who to listen and who to trust.
People shouldn’t be afraid of the government.
Government should be afraid of the people.
