The “Hard to Imagine” Future
Found this one on Orange’s blog. It’s pretty worrying to witness the rapid advancement in the field of robotics. This is just a prototype. Imagine this piece of machine is mounted with gatling guns, laser turrets, EMP generator, plasma guns, missile launcher or any WMD we could possibly imagine. Luckily at this stage it is still not being able to “think”, if not scenes in Terminator series will become more than just a terrifying reality. Scary isn’t it?
Now on the brighter side, 3 movies (Artificial Intelligence: AI, Bicentennial Man and I, Robot) popped into my mind when I see this. If humans are as pure hearted as Jules then the world will be a peaceful place to live in.
Still using CD / DVD / Hard Disk to store information? Well, it’s time to think “bio”. Imagine next time you bring a series of test tubes filled with bacterial / viral solution to store / retrieve any data that you want. Again, scary isn’t it? Reminds me of Resident Evil….. zzz…
What type of future are we having? IS IT TIME TO PONDER WHERE WE ARE HEADING?
