F*** Off Streamyx! (Not for Kids)

can no longer tolerate such stupid and lousy line quality. Time after time, again and again you deliver only bad news yet you still monopolize the entire broadband service sector. People complain and you wouldn’t listen. I pay RM88 for something, not for you (TM) to wipe your bloody corrupted ass!
Recently the entire Malaysian online community suffered from frequent quality drop of DSL signal and most of them are related to the TM service nodes. Ok, end of my rant. I’m going to share with you my solution to improve line quality. You may / may not succeed. I can’t guarantee the effectiveness.
Procedure
- Go to Start Menu>Run.
- Type the following: ping www.google.com /t.
**I choose Google (64.233.189.99) because based on my experience, if this IP is accessible, almost every other website can be reached. - If you get a nice ping (<200ms), or a moderate ping (200ms - 350ms), you may choose to remain with the current IP. If you get a bad ping (>350ms) or many timeouts, proceed to the next step.
- Open up your modem / router admin page. Normally the IP will be 192.168.1.1.
- Disconnect your current connection and reconnect.
- Repeat all steps until you can get a nice or moderate ping.
**If you are lucky, a few tries then you will get a nice ping. If you are unlucky, even 20 tries also you will fail. Blame TM and your luck!
Currently I’m running on 60.50.208.66. The ping I get looks like this:
Run a series of test at speedtest.net and I get:
Good or bad? I really don’t know…

Aiks .. same one as daniel..
sometimes if the connection is bad, i’d just take the time to do other things (e.g. reading) instead of waiting there. just a waste of time.
and, sometimes i hope they are totally down instead of being ok but slow.. so that i can ask for refund.. i tried it once.. and out of expectation, they are quite efficient in handling this.. maybe their bad service had created a “professional team” hahaha
you can try maxis broadband….i heard better than streamyx….
over 1500kbps for server in malaysia. That is because our streamyx is the best INTRANET provider in malaysia, but the MOTHAF**** INTERNET provider in malaysia. Try google streamyx sucks and find AhYap blog, he mentioned about it before
ojibalas last blog post..shock shock shock
DD:
Yeah, Streamyx is malfunctioning recently. Got plenty of headache about that…
haan:
Streamyx will be happier if everyone is like you but unfortunately most people out there are people like me, depending on network for academic stuff, news, downloads etc.
Wow, they really refund you, how interesting. I wonder why MCMC didn’t take any action on this pathetic company. They monopolize the whole market yet they are so cocky and “tak apa” with their services.
Do you have any bad encounters with them before?
zzkang:
I heard many complaints about Maxis Broadband. So far the best is Celcom Broadband (Oh my, this is the only good thing about TM) Anyway, I’m sharing the connection with 3 more people, so can’t simply cut it off. Well, right now with the technique mentioned above, I manage to get good line capacity. In the end it is the IP that is causing all the problems.
Ojipala:
What can we do? TM is the only provider, not because the service is good but under certain policy this MOTHAF**** monopolizes the entire market…
