If you think earning from blog advertisement is not good enough, you can always try some alternative ways. Here I’ll introduce to 2 international programs that I trusted and got paid.

(My Referral Link) Take the Internet Back (TIB)

Basically it’s an opt-in email advertising and marketing program but what makes it so special is that you actually own the company. Like a normal shareholder, you earn points everytime you read emails, participate in special programs, refer new advertisers and refer new members. The more points you have the bigger the portion of your share in this company. You will be given USD10 upon signing up and the minimum requirement for payout is USD20 accumulated in your account + 2 members being referred by you. Easy isn’t it? Check out the main site for more details.

(My Referral Link) Gomez PEER

This is the easiest way to earn some $$$. Gomez PEER is actually a network analysis software that runs at the background when you are connected to the Internet. Let it run and you will be pad for the processing time. Gomez selects a diverse group of PEERs to be paid for their Processing Time. Right now, Gomez is looking for users from all over the world with different Internet connection types, including dial-up and broadband users. Gomez will review your application within 14 business days and notify you of your Account Status via e-mail. Don’t worry, the program is trojan free so your information in your PC / Laptop is safe. Check out the main site for details.

That’s all. The above 2 programs require no extra skills / abilities. So take this opportunity and get some extra $$$. I sincerely hope that what I have shared here will benefit many people out there. If you have any questions / suggestions feel free to contact me. Thanks! =)

Online Money Making Tips - Part 2

Last post we talked about some basic concepts of online advertising. Now we proceed to the introduction of third party ad companies.

============================

Google Adsense

This is currently the biggest ad network in the world. The ads will show accordingly to your contents as well as the location of your visitors. This means that if you have a niche topic to talk about, chances of getting targeted ads are higher compared to a site talking general topics like mine. Check my ads on the sidebar and compare them with the ads on a niche topic website, you’ll see a vast difference in terms of ad contents and commission rates.

If possible, my suggestion is that get a niche topic and start working on it. Remember, the topics chosen have to be specific and unique, if not chances are other site with similar topic possessing greater traffic volume will grab away the ad exposure on your site.

You need to apply for it, if your site is too new (less than 3 months old), Google normally will not approve it so make sure you have sufficient contents with sufficient visitors (>20 visitors per day) before applying. One more thing, You need to accumulate USD100 before you are eligible for the cash out.

Advertlets

Advertlets is the 2nd Malaysia online advertising network. It is currently managed by Josh Lim and his team who also run Josh Lim & Associates and RedesignMalaysia.com. The ads are localized and the minimum payout is RM100.

Nuffnang

Nuffnang is the 1st Malaysia online advertising network. It was founded by Timothy Tiah and Cheo Ming Shen. The ads are localized and the minimum payout is RM50.

============================

Malaysia currently has 5 online advertising networks with both Advertlets and Nuffnang being the major players in the region. These 2 giants have their exclusive bloggers program namely TITAN for Advertlets and GLITTERATI for Nuffnang. Being exclusive means one must not host other 3rd party ad network originating from Asia. For example, if you host Advertlets, in order to be exclusive you mustn’t host ads from Nuffnang. Each company provide different benefits and bonuses for those who participate in their respective exclusive blogger prgrams so basically it’s a tough fight. Which one do I choose? Right now i would prefer Advertlets to Nuffnang for it’s easier to gather $$$ even though the minimum payout is RM100.

Unfortunately many free blogging platforms out there do not allow the use of Javascripts nor the editing of their template’s HTML. Therefore the easiest solution will be to use Blogger. Using Adsense is very easy as Adsense has been integrated into Blogger’s layout elements. For Advertlets, Nuffnang or other ad network, simply copy the ad code and paste them into the Javascript / HTML layout element. Everything is as easy as ABC. If you still face problems in adding the code, kindly contact me for solutions.

That’s all for now. We’ll talk about alternative money making ways in the next post. Stay tuned.

Online Money Making Tips - Part 1

I have to declare a few things before I proceed:

  • I’m no expert in making a lot of money from the Internet. This is just a beginner’s tips towards earning some extra bucks. If you need real expert guidance, kindly look for other resources.
  • I’m writing from my point of view and the contents are generally for people living in Asia.
  • I share my ideas honestly so I’ll be letting you know which one are my referral links. Should you proceed with my recommendation, you may choose to / not to register using my links.

You see people showing ads from third party ad network. Some earn very fast while some are like me, earning very slow. SO HOW DO THESE PEOPLE EARN MONEY from online advertising? For publishers, most technical jargons can be skipped except CPC and CPM.

CPC (Cost Per Click) as the name suggests, is the amount of commission given to the publisher for triggering a clicking action on the ads that leads to the advertisers’ website / portal.  CPM (Cost Per Mille) on the other hands, is the amount of commission given to the publisher for showing / exposing the ads to 1000 visitors. The difference between CPC and CPM is that CPC is a active process for it requires user triggered actions while CPM is a pasive process without the need for user actions. According to recent studies, it is identified that sites with more regular readers tend to have lower click rates. Therefore traffic (which I’m working hard to get) is a very important factor for one to gain benefit from CPM method. If you really need to learn more, please refer to wikipedia for more answers.

I have to highlight CPC here for it is the main trouble for publisher to be banned from hosting the ad codes by various ad companies. Since clicking is the only way to calculate the commissions, almost every ad companies have developed their unique detection algorithms to detect fraud clicks, clicks which are fabricated / fake / non-genuine to protect the interest of the advertisers. Many factors will be taken into consideration. IP tracking, user behavioral studies, content-item relevancy, traffic sources, search engine organic activities are some of the few methods to detect fraud clicks. So please don’t think of clicking your own ads no matter how interested or related they are, for such actions might be interpreted as attempt to fool the ad service provider. Clicking on the ads at the site that you visit directly and regularly without going through search activities might risk the site owner being accused and mistreated for fraud clicks.  We’ll talk about companies providing ad hosting services on next post.
