Who is the author?

Basic: OK, I’m Seng Chin Loon (盛靖伦). Born on 20th of August 1984, I’m a 24 year-old Malaysian who is currently pursuing his Master in environmental management through research at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in Johor. I come from Penang, obtained my primary education at Union Primary School, secondary education at Chung Ling High School and first degree in civil engineering at UTM.

Advanced: I like to try new things using unconventional methods therefore most of the time being labeled as care free, fearless or crazy. Whatever people don’t like, I will try to explore in that realm. Evidence? My “unpopular” research topic of “Evaluation of Nutrient Source in Sewage Sludge on Medicinal Herbs” says it all. Most of the time I’m able to see things as they could be, therefore I consider myself visionary. I’m extremely talkative so there is hardly any ice that I can’t break. I’m sensitive to sounds and colours, therefore I’m in love with music and photography. I have interest in vast topics, but there is nothing more satisfying than to understand human behaviour and psychology. The world is such a beautiful place for each individual is completely unique. Human relationship is an art for you need to constantly observe and practice, refining the skills to reach the correct blend that would make everyone crazy for you. Why do you blog?

Blogging to me is a tool for learning, sharing and making new friends. By putting everything I see and listen into words, I’m actually training myself to write in a more efficient way besides sharing my stuff with my readers. By establishing my presence online through blogging and blog hopping, I’m able to stretch out my arms to reach more people out there. To me, Web 2.0 brings revolutionary changes that will forever alter my ways of knowing the world and its people.

Why uncleseng.com?

This is the real Uncle Seng and Aunty Seng. Aren’t they young? LOL. Well, all my father’s friends and business partners call him Uncle Seng and to me it’s a sign of respect and compliment. Both my parents are good people but no females would want people calling them “Aunty” therefore I do not dare to use that word. I look up to my father for his wisdom. To me, he has achieved high enough just to keep the family warm, comfy and happy. It seems like there is nothing he do not know. Therefore I’m striving to be as good as him, or even better than him as a father, a husband, a gardener, a businessman and a proud Malaysian.

Anyway, without the two of them there won’t be me here writing the lines. Therefore I would like to dedicate uncleseng.com to my parents for they have made me what I am today.

Why Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow. ?

This blog promises to capture issues and matters which the author is concerned about without being  distorted by time and space. Therefore it serves as a development log charting ups and downs throughout the course of its existence. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift, that’s why it is called present. Today is the result of yesterday. Tomorrow is the result of today. Realizing this intricate relationship, it is therefore important to select the appropriate phrase that will outline the entire concept now and then.
